Got Cotton?

Cotton is a soft, fluffy, staple fiber and most importantly, natural. When properly spun, cotton can be a soft and breathable textile. It is the most widely used natural fiber cloth in clothing and socks today. We use cotton in certain socks (J200) because of these reasons, mainly its natural breathability and its cost. Cotton is by far the most economical to grow and produce, than its man-made fibers such as acrylic and polyester.Cotton absorbs moisture (water and sweat) more than other fibers known for their wicking or moisture repelling capabilities. We have combated this by incorporating a product called, Sulcool, which is woven to the plantar (bottom) surface of the socks. Sulcool is a polyester yarn which has been treated to enhance the ability to wick or remove moisture already possessed by polyester. Since almost all the moisture we perspire comes from the bottom of the foot (about a half-pint a day) we have greatly enhanced this situation.
